Everything We Know About 'Selling Sunset' Season Four (So Far)

Everything We Know About 'Selling Sunset' Season Four (So Far)

Unless you've been in the midst of a social media blackout, there's a good chance you've seen the words Selling Sunset appear in your feed more than a few times.

And if you're anything like us, you inhaled the show in all its Real Housewives meets real estate glory and, 24 episodes later, are desperate to know: Will there be a season four?

Well, we're here to answer that question. Below, everything we know about season four of Selling Sunset (so far).

Is Selling Sunset returning for season 4?

The answer is: yes! Christine Quinn confirmed that the series would return for season four in October during appearance on the UK talk show This Morning.

"We're not back filming now, but Jason has confirmed that we've gotten picked up," she said.

"We're just kind of waiting and I know he's talked about it in the press but no one really knows the date, and I know filming restrictions are really hard, especially in Los Angeles now with such a big film production. So we're kind of just waiting."

While she has said that the series is happening, Netflix has yet to make any official announcements about renewing Selling Sunset for a fourth season, perhaps due to uncertainy around filming. And Christine isn't the only cast member who has dropped hints that the hit show may be getting another run.

In conversation with Good Morning Britain on September 24, 2020, brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim all but confirmed that Selling Sunset has been picked up again.

"No, season four hasn’t been filmed, the pandemic has put a dampner on filming right now," Jason said.

"We can expect we’ll be moving forward as soon as possible, but filming is very difficult now here in LA… everything has been delayed.’

On September 4, Mary Fitzgerald revealed that it tends will take a certain amonunt of time as the streaming giant has its own way of doing things.

"Netflix, they have their own way of doing everything, and they have to see ratings, it takes them a certain amount of time," she said in an interview with FUBAR Radio.

"We're all very confident that it's going to get picked up... it's done so much better than season one and two. We're pretty certain it's going to, but we don't have the green light just yet."

Speculation that season four was on the cards grew in mid-August, when Chrishell Stause shared a photo alongside fellow cast members Heather Young, Mary Fitzgerald and Amanza Smith with the caption:

"Carpe Diem!! Celebrating good news we can’t tell you about 🤐😳🙌🏽💗 #SellingSunset #Season3 #Netflix."

Heather also shared a snap from the same day to her Instagram, echoing Chrishell's excitement over their mysterious "good news".

"Celebrating so much good news!! Exciting things in the near future!" she wrote.

While it is possible that neither were hinting at a new season, both Chrishell and Mary have publicly voiced their interest in taking part in another round.

"I know the people that I talk to—Heather, Chrishell, Amanza, Jason, and Romain—we're all up for a fourth season," Mary Fitzgerald told Women's Health in August.

"I can't speak for the other girls because I don't really speak to them."

Similarly, Chrishell, whose very public divorce featured prominently in season three, also hinted to a fan asking about season four, that she would be up to returning to the series.

"We have to wait for them to give us the officia pick up and then we can start shooting. So keep streaming to hurry them up 😉," she said in an Instagram Story in August.

What is going to happen in Selling Sunset season 4?

Shortly after filming on season three wrapped, Heather got engaged to her now-fiancé Tarek El Moussa, a real estate agent and investor who co-hosts property-flipping reality show, Flip Or Flop.

Given the fact that we've witnessed both Mary and Christine's weddings across seasons two and three, it's possible we'll get to watch Heather's proposal or maybe even her and Tarek's wedding in season four.

In fact, due to both Heather and Tarek's filming contracts, they've previously been unable to appear onscreen together, which is why he has not appeared on Selling Sunset to date, as Heather revealed in an interview with Buzzfeed Celeb.

However, since Tarek's network HGTV shot his proposal in July, they agreed to let him appear on a future episode of Selling Sunset.

Season four will also likely cover Chrishell's post-divorce journey, following her split from This Is Us actor, Justin Hartley.

Selling Sunset creator Adam DiVello told The Los Angeles Times that he loved how season three ended, with Chrishell creating a fresh start in her new home in the Hollywood Hills.

"I love the solitude of it and the way it was situated with the windows looking out over the whole city," he explained.

"This is a girl we’ve followed all over the Valley, and now she’s propped up in the hills, as if she can see everything that’s ahead of her."

Chrishell also weighed in on her season three arc in the same interview, revealing that there are "endless possibilities" for her.

"It symbolises so much, and I think that viewers will be able to see that as well. I’m wondering, ‘What’s out there? What’s this going to turn into?’ I don’t know what the future holds, but there are endless possibilities now that my plan has completely changed," she said.

Which cast members will be returning for Selling Sunset season 4?

With the given information, it seems likely that all the cast members will return for Selling Sunset – despite recent rumours that some cast members had left the Oppenheim Group, which included Brett Oppenheim, who opened his own brokerage called Oppenheim real estate.

"There's been some drama going down... Someone has left the brokerage for good and started their own brokerage... Brett," Christine revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

A quick scan of The Oppenheim Group's website confirms the news (and reveals Davina's $75 million listing still hasn't sold), now naming Jason as the sole broker, however sources have confirmed that the brothers' respective brokerages are actually linked.

The only cast member who has confirmed they are leaving The Oppenheim Group is Davina, who has joined a rival brokerage, though that doesn't neccessarily mean she won't appear in the show.

"I certainly hope that I'm still part of the cast," she told People, where she also revealed that real estate competitor Douglas Elliman presented her with a "wonderful opportunity" that she couldn't pass up.

Davina's announcement aside, the Oppenheims themselves have revealed that the whole cast will "be around".

"Everybody is going to be around," Brett told Good Morning Britain. "Honestly, we’ve been working together in close quarters for so long, I don’t think that’s going to change.

"I’m sure there’s been moments when we’ve both thought of doing that. But no," he jokingly added.

While this is great news and everyone is likely to reappear on Selling Sunset, it is possible we may see slightly less of some of them, most notably Maya Vander, who's been splitting her time between Los Angeles and Miami and moved Florida full-time during the coronavirus pandemic to be with her family.

In an interview with Women's Health, Maya revealed that she's tired of going "back and forth" and looking to stay in Miami for the majority of her time.

"LA will always be my home. I lived here for 15 years, but the reality is, I have two kids now and my husband's job is there," she said.

"I really don’t desire to do too much back and forth, [and I'm] definitely not dragging kids in on a plane and travelling too much."

In the latter of half of season three, we saw Maya, who said she was studying for her broker's license in Florida, float the possibility of an Oppenheim Group branch in Miami past Brett.

"I would love to just stay in Miami and if I have serious clients that [are] worth going to fly for a day or two to do showings and try to get a deal on the contract. I will do that," she told Women's Health.

"'Selling South Beach' would be a cool idea, and I have the girls already — cute, little real estate agency — but I don't know if they can provide drama as much as our show does," she also joked in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
