Selma Blair Enlists 7-Year-Old Son To Shave Her Head Amid MS Battle

You're not crying, we're not crying

Selma Blair has decided to say goodbye to her formerly shoulder-length tresses, enlisting the help of her son Arthur, 7, to achieve her new pixie cropped ‘do. And it appears the tiny barber has a future as a hairstylist.

Taking to Instagram, the Legally Blonde star wrote: “Back to my roots.” Sharing an adorable photo of Arthur sheering of her mane with a pair of clippers no less.

Fans will recall that Blair rocked a similar short hairstyle in the early 2000s. However, the decision to cut her locks might have a deeper meaning behind it than simply bringing back her old look but rather because of her MS diagnosis.

Back in 2018, Blair admitted that she originally chopped off her long hair into a shoulder-length bob because it was difficult to lift her arms to brush her hair when it was longer.

One supportive follower wrote: “Hair is SO HARD to deal with when you can’t lift your arms above your head,” to which Selma agreed. “Yup.”

As per Women’s Health, Selma revealed that her hair and eyelashes had also begun falling out in April.

Since her diagnosis, the Cruel Intentions actress has been open about the struggles she experiences with her chronic illness. Constantly fighting to be there for Arthur despite the disease.

“Here’s a truth. I feel sick as all hell,” Blair revealed on Instagram in May. “I am vomiting and all the things which are not polite to speak of. My son ran away. From me. I have to get him to school. The medical treatments take their toll. I am going to get through this. We do. This will pass.”

Sending lots of good wishes to Selma. Whatever the reason behind Selma’s decision to shave her head – it’s clear that if anyone can rock the shaved look, it’s her.
