She's 'heartbroken' over claims they were never friends

Sarah Jessica Parker has spoken out about her ‘heartbreak’ over Kim Cattrall’s claims that she was never friends with her Sex and the City co-stars.

“We’ve never been friends,” Cattrall said, Entertainment Tonight reported in October.

“We‘ve been colleagues and in some ways, it’s a very healthy place to be because then you have a clear line between your professional life and relationship and your personal.”

Now, SJP responded to Cattrall’s comments while appearing alongside Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.

“What was your reaction to Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan that you were never friends just colleagues?” Cohen asked on the show.

“Just…heartbroken,” Parker replied. “I mean that whole week, you and I spoke about it because I was just…I don’t know I found it really upsetting because that’s, you know, that’s not the way I recall our experience.”

Parker continued: “So…it’s sad but I’m kind of…I don’t know, I always think that what ties us together is this singular experience is the thing. It was a professional experience but it became personal because it was years and years of our lives. So I’m hoping that that sort of eclipses anything that’s been recently spoken.

“That many years spent doing something so special that people had a connection with is such a privileged.”

While SATC 3 will not go ahead with Cattrall, a number of names have been thrown around about who could step into Samantha’s Manolo Blahniks, from Tiffany Haddish to Sofia Vergara and even Ellen DeGeneres (would watch).

Cohen’s suggestion? Sharon Stone.

“I think you are not the first person who said that,” Parker told the WWHL host. “I think it’s a really interesting idea.”
