At Dior’s lavish launch of the new Miss Dior Eau de Parfum in France, Lara Worthington (nee Bingle) rubbed shoulders with Natalie Portman, Lily Donaldson and Aymeline Valade, wearing a striking couture leather dress by the French fashion house.
The black design fitted her like a glove, and with its underwear-esque straps and bustier-style, is a luxe leather take on the sheer Dior design so many celebrities are wearing right now.
Each season, certain pieces generate the kind of buzz that extends well beyond the runway – and Dior’s sheer gowns have done just that (bravo, Maria Grazia Chiuri). Rose Leslie was resplendent in a cherry red version on the 2017 Olivier Awards red carpet.
Sienna Miller wore a black floral iteration on the red carpet last month.
... But Bella Hadid was the first star to go sheer, first in this creamy design and then again in powder blue (see next slide).
She donned the gauzy blue gown for a Dior Ball in Paris in January.
Back in New York, Dianna Agron vamped things up in a daring black version.
While Nina Dobrev wore white (as did Roxy Jacenko in this exact dress at Hermes on the Beach last week).
Style icon Diane Kruger put her own spin on the now-iconic design, opting for a short and chic iteration in blush.
While Emma Watson wore a more demure version of the Dior design on the red carpet in October.
