She was the gorgeous teenager whose disappearance during a Spring Break holiday shocked the US.
Now, a bombshell confession has reawakened the case of missing 17 year old, Britanee Drexel.
The teen was last seen leaving a hotel in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on April 25 in 2009, during Spring Break.
Drexel had reportedly gone on a trip without her parents' permission.
Now, a shocking possibility has emerged: that Drexel was abducted and gang-raped before being shot and thrown into an alligator pit.
Earlier this month, FBI agent Gerrick Munoz told a court that an inmate's “jailhouse confession” had reignited the case, according to People.
The court heard that the inmate had seen Drexel at a "stash house" where she was being held, and identified a murder suspect.
According to the Post and Courier, Taquan Brown told officials he saw the suspect and several other men 'sexually abusing Brittanee Drexel.'
The inmate also claims to have witnessed Drexel attempting to escape before hearing two bullets fired.
Munoz added that ‘several witnesses’ have told police that Drexel was dumped in a pond full of alligators.
