For the past few years, everyone’s been chopping their hair into long bobs, aptly dubbed ‘lobs’, which sit just above the shoulder and which are usually perfectly toussled, a la Georgia Fowler. But with a new decade comes a new trend and Kaia Gerber is here to present it to us.
The 18-year-old model, who has slowly been chopping her brunette locks shorter and shorter for the past few months, has settled on a short bob which sits just below her ear.
Wearing her hair sleek and straight – the opposite of the volumious waves we’ve been attempting to perfect since 2017 – Kaia tucked her new bob behind her ear, the slimming style showing off her supermodel jawline.
Despite her post pointing to a pretty floral arrangement, her friends and followers went crazy for the new do, with Bella Hadid writing, “Dead for this hair”, model Dilone commenting, “hair is too cute!” and Emily Ratajkowski simply putting, “winner winner”.
During the recent fashion week season, Kaia opened up about the reason behind her switching up her hair style, telling Vogue UK that she felt pressure to have long, pretty locks for modelling.
“For so long I felt this pressure to have the long, pretty hair that everyone expects you to have. Then I asked myself who I was doing that for – I could cut my hair if I wanted to cut my hair. And I did,” she said at the time, noting that Kurt Cobain was her original inspiration.
