Sofia Vergara’s On Stage Gaffe At Golden Globes Leaves Viewers Scratching Their Heads

Was it a mistake or was it actually planned?

Ah public speaking, it can go so wrong. Just ask Sofia Vergara.

The Modern Family star took to the stage at today’s Golden Globes to introduce this year’s Golden Globes trio and when talking about the tradition, she mispronounced the word “annual” accidentally saying “anal”.

Realising her mistake she quickly corrected herself, “I didn’t mean anal,” she said, laughing it off.

Twitter users had a field day with the gaffe – however most were actually questioning whether or not it was actually a mistake and labeling the show’s writers as sexist and racist for mocking her accent.

The Golden Globes also posted the video to it’s Twitter account, further fueling the suspicion the line was planned.
