Soldier Involved With 60 Minutes Child Recovery Team Denied Bail

As well as other members of the team

This morning, Adam Whittington, who is a former Australian soldier that was jailed after Channel Nine’s child recovery operation for 60 Minutes, was denied bail in Lebanon.

While the TV crew walked away free, Adam and three other people involved with the operation have not been able to make it out of jail.

Adam told Sky News of his hopes to at least be granted bail.

“We’ve got our confidence because of the evidence that’s been submitted and the judges have actually looked at his case and accepted the fact that he is a recovery officer agent and he was very confident himself he would get bail,” Mr Whittington said.

“But unfortunately there’s a stumbling block every time.”

As the situation stands now, the case is in the hands of the general prosecutor and they are being transferred to a jail in Tripoli while they await their trial.
