Speaking on Nova’s Fitzy And Wippa radio show this morning, Laundy said, “I sort of found out via Instagram, but we both knew in our hearts it was pushing toward a friendship… I think it was a decision we’d both been coming to.”
He added: “Apart from being so publicly brushed, I have no hard feelings whatsoever.”
Laundy then went on to explain that the pressure of being in the public eye took its toll on the new couple. “We basically came out of that show and as soon as it finished on air we were living together,” he explained. “It was full on – I don’t usually go at that speed, but we had about three to four months of a whirlwind romance. It was very real.”
Now that his high-profile relationship has ended, Laundy told Fitzy and Wippa he intends to “fade away into obscurity,” saying of his new-found fame, “I’ve never experienced anything like it and I hopefully never will again.”
Monk confirmed the break up on Instagram over the weekend, explaining that the pair, who met on The Bachelorette, tried to give their relationship their "best shot" but it just didn't work because they are "just very different people".
