A mother and her two daughters have been found dead in a lavish Gold Coast apartment in what police are suspecting was a suicide pact.
One of the victim's husbands returned home to the apartment on the luxurious Ephraim Island to find the three women's bodies, with emergency services immediately called to the scene.
The deceased, believed to be 78-year-old Margaret Cummins and her two daughters Wynette and Heather, aged 54 and 53, died from suffocation, with police saying there are no suspicious circumstances.
It's thought the trio suffered mental health issues, with police saying the husband is not surprised the act happened.
“(The husband) is not surprised that has happened, I think he’s surprised it’s three of them at once,” Detective Senior-Sergeant Mark Procter said, as reported by The Gold Coast Bulletin.
