With everyone in lockdown and in dire need of a creative outlet, we saw our Instagram feeds flooded with tablescape creations.
Whether it was a morning coffee or dinner party (of maximum ten people), bloggers alike were getting serious about perfecting the aesthetic art of a photo-worthy table set-up.
But with endless choices for crockery, glassware, candles and floral centrepieces, there’s a lot to think about when attempting your own set-up.

Colourful
Perhaps the breakout aesthetic of 2020 has been the resurgence of colourful everything. For this style we recommend opting for a tablecloth in a neutral shade to highlight all the vibrant glassware and flowers.
Mix-and-Match
Not only is this super on-trend but since vintage tableware is the best to mix and match, it’s also very affordable. Be on the lookout for a good thrift find from Etsy or shop these similar styles.
Rustic
The beauty of the rustic display is that there really aren’t any rules. The key to masterfully crafting the undone look (yes, we see the irony) is in the wooden accents and serving. Natural fabrics and dried flowers also go a long way.
Industrial
For a spread that looks straight out of a Brooklyn wedding, keep it paired back and relatively monochromatic. Pieces in stone, metals and neutrals will set the right tone.
Minimal
Minimal doesn’t have to mean sparse, or cold. With elements of pink and earthy tones, your minimalist table can be refined but also inviting.
Modern
To keep things modern, opt for fun, artistic elements. Printed plates and sculptural candles are a match made in heaven, and, with the right colour palette, still result in a chic, paired-back table.
