Did Taylor Swift Just Subtly Come Out As Bisexual In Her Latest Music Video?

Fans are convinced

Taylor Swift is known for her ability to pack so many easter eggs into her music videos, it can take fans days to track them all down. In her latest video for You Need To Calm Down, fans believe the 29-year-old entertainer subtly came out as bisexual.  Fans on Twitter noticed that at one point in the video, Swift is dressed like the bisexual pride flag. That flag is magenta, purple, and blue – similar to the colours the singer was sporting in her clothing and hair.

Swift is yet to comment on the Twitter theory, but she’s previously called herself a “straight” ally. She also directly denied she would queer bait when responding to a Tumblr theory that she and Katy Perry would kiss in the video.

“Guys. That is ABSOLUTELY false,” she wrote. “To be an ally is to understand the difference between advocating and baiting. Anyone trying to twist this positivity into something it isn’t needs to calm down. It costs zero dollars to not step on our gowns.”

Twitter couldn’t help but investigate.

Recently, Swift has been a very vocal ally for the LGBTQI community. At the end of her music video, Swift included a callout about her petition supporting the Equality Act. She began Pride Month by sharing the letter she wrote to her senator and encouraging others to do the same to voice their support for the legislation.

“HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!!🌈 While we have so much to celebrate, we also have a great distance to go before everyone in this country is truly treated equally,” she wrote. “In excellent recent news, the House has passed the Equality Act, which would protect LGBTQ people from discrimination in their places of work, homes, schools, and other public accommodations. The next step is that the bill will go before the Senate. I’ve decided to kick off Pride Month by writing a letter to one of my senators to explain how strongly I feel that the Equality Act should be passed. I urge you to write to your senators too. I’ll be looking for your letters by searching the hashtag #lettertomysenator.”

“Let’s show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally. 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈 Click the link in my bio to sign the petition for Senate support of the Equality Act,” she concluded.
