Terry towelling has quickly become the unsung hero of our warm weather attire. While it usually conjures up thoughts of Juicy Couture tracksuits and childhood beach towels, it's being redefined this season in the shape of versatile and chic dresses, rompers and two-piece sets.
Australian-founded Myra Swim—who counts Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria and Elsa Hosk as fans—looked to the comfortable fabric for its latest resort collection.
"Terry towelling is an amazing ode to the popular 1970s pool fashion trend," brand founder Bianca Anstiss tells marie claire Australia, "The durability and versatility of a two-in-one garment make it an easy, comfortable option to resort wear. It was only right we brought it back this summer."
Celebrity favourite Frankies Bikinis also looked to the quick-dry fabric this year, with a terry set that Sofia Richie was spotted wearing on more than one occasion.
Same goes for Lack of Color, a go-to when it comes to beachside accessories, who dropped a line of terry bucket hats to keep you sun safe this season.
With the vibrant and pastel hues on offer, the trend is primed for the Australian summer.
