With just days to go until Locky Gilbert’s season of The Bachelor – it’s hitting our screens on August 12 – we’re beginning to get a sneak peek at the contestants ready to try their luck at love. Channel 10 has released the first entrances to the Bachelor mansion, and boy do these ladies know how to make an entrance.
Nicole
First up we meet dancer Nicole, who jumps into Locky’s arms and teaches him the mambo. “Nicole has a lot of energy,” Locky says. “That’s somebody I just want to be around.”
Laura
We also meet Laura, who we’re pegging early as this years ‘villain’. “I quite like a Louis Vuitton handbag, Chanel earrings, the Porche Cayenne Turbo” she says, adding, “I am a snob.” By Locky’s reaction, we’re assuming things don’t work out for this pair.
Areeba
25-year-old “boss” Areeba also arrives, saying: “I’m a boss at home, I’m a boss at work and I’m a boss with my relationships.”
Rosemary
It wouldn’t be a Bachie red carpet without some quirky entrances. Enter Rosemary, who knew Locky would be dressed in a penguin suit (ie: shirt and bowtie), so she decides to do the same, only literally. “I saw you got the penguin suit memo,” she says, while Locky praises her for being “courageous.”
Bella
We spy an early contender here. Locky seems smitten immediately as Bella gives him a small red heart pin to remind him to always wear his “heart on his sleeve.” Aww!
Steph
Always a good tactic, Steph looks to Locky’s stomach to find a connection – bonding over burritos. Although, it seems they might have to compromise in the spice department.
Irena
Nurse Irena turns to her stethoscope to win Locky’s heart. “There was just something about Irena…” he admits.
In another promo for the upcoming season, Locky explained to the camera: “Being in love is like the best feeling in the world, it takes your breath away. I’ve definitely had my heartbroken. Love, it is scary. Love’s like the scariest thing in the world.”
He added, “I’ve done a lot of crazy things in my life. Jumping off of mountains, jumping from buildings, scuba-diving through a shipwreck, but being the Bachelor is the craziest thing I’ve ever done.”
“I’m here to find love. I would love to get down on one knee at the end. I’m the kind of guy that would do it,” he concluded.
