Channel 10 released a statement claiming the network considered it “no longer practical” to continue filming the show in Sydney, despite “employing extra precautions on set for some time”, adding production will resume “when it is safe to do so”, via HuffPost Australia.

“While this decision is disappointing, we remain committed to keeping our audiences entertained and connected in these challenging times,” the statement said.

The same day, Channel Ten also confirmed that its sister series Bachelor In Paradise would also postpone airing despite already having been filmed.

A spokesperson told TV Tonight the network will screen the series later this year after initially scheduling it to air in April.

The network will screen two weeks of Jamie Oliver specials instead, along with COVID-19-related content ahead of the return of MasterChef.
