Last week, it was revealed Bachelor Australia contestant Rachael Arahill had started a romance with a series producer after it looked like things with leading suitor Matt Agnew weren’t working out. Since then, the 23-year-old has addressed the scandal, telling TV Week that “all the girls” vying for Matt’s heart had “back up plans” and were attracted to somebody on set other than the astrophysicist.

She told the publication, “Before we’d go to bed, all the girls in the house would joke that only one girl was going to end up with Matt. The crew were good-looking, so everyone had their own guy they’d joke about and say, ‘This guy is hot,’ and, ‘This guy is mine when I leave the house.'”
According to other reports, Rachael made her crush on the series producer no secret. “Rachael tried cracking onto the producer in front of the girls,” one insider allegedly said. “She had no shame, but for everyone else, it was really uncomfortable to watch. She was caught multiple times writing her number down on pieces of paper and had some of the girls in the house hand it to him!”
While the Network 10 employee, who was in a relationship at the time, shut Rachael down, she said that her eyes began to wander after she realised she had nothing in common with Matt. “All the girls in the house had made these great connections with Matt and had these big feelings for him,” she says. “But I thought, ‘I don’t feel this at all in any way shape or form.”
Even more shockingly, Rachael made headlines earlier in the week after pictures emerged of her and fellow contestant Vakoo Kauapirura kissing.
“Rachael and Vakoo formed a really strong friendship in the mansion and their feelings for each other quickly developed,” a source said. “They ended up hooking up in the mansion one night after one of the first cocktail parties. It was never filmed and producers never found out about it.”
“They started spending lots of time together after that. The girls would always see them together, going for walks alone, and started to question if they were more than friends but they never confirmed it.”
Following her elimination, Vakoo all but confirmed in a cryptic Instagram post that she’d found love in the mansion. “I may not have found love with the Bach but I found love with some extraordinary women,” she wrote.
