On Monday it seemed like The Bachelor finale may have been ruined, with photos published showing Matty J and Laura Byrne heading off on a secret getaway.
Daily Mail reported that Laura was picked up by a Bachelor production vehicle, and transported to the Blue Mountains for a romantic weekend away with Matty.
The publication published images of the pair returning to their respective homes on Sunday night.
However, Matty is insisting that he was home in Bondi for the entirety of the weekend.
“I was in Bondi the entire weekend, so I definitely wasn’t away that weekend,” he told Nova’s Chrissie, Sam and Browny on Wednesday.
When the 31-year-old was asked about a picture he shared of himself on the snow, which many thought was used to throw people off the scent, he did admit it was from a past snow trip.
“Look I wasn’t at the snow, that was an old pic it was from a few weeks before,” he revealed.
When Chrissie Swan asked why Laura was reportedly driven in multiple vehicles, Matty suggested she ask The Bachelor contestant herself.
“That’s a very good question, I don’t know you’d have to speak to Laura.”
When Laura was asked about her whereabouts over the weekend, she told PopSugar that she was visiting family in her hometown of Wollongong
“I’ve actually just been spending time down in Wollongong as well, so when I said to the paparazzi that I came from my sister’s, she can vouch I came from there,” the 30-year-old said.
“There are a lot of photos that are missing to tie that story together, and all the information is all very speculative.”
