In news that reportedly sent shockwaves through The Bachelorette mansion, a frontrunner on Angie Kent's season is set to quit the series in an upcoming episode after his grandmother died while in production. According to sources, per Daily Mail, a producer told the contestant the sad news off camera and he immediately flew home.

The publication adds that the favourite filmed an emotional scene in which he told Angie of the tragedy and his decision to leave the mansion, but the conversation may not make it to air.
"The news sent shockwaves through the show, but everybody understood and respected his decision to go and be with his family," the source told Daily Mail.
During the filming stint, contestants are cut off from the outside world and are given a contact person at the production company in case of emergency.
If news of this departure proves to be true, the suitor will join a long list of unexpected exits this year. During episode two, Angie decided to eliminate Noosa politician Jess Glasgow for his "inappropriate remarks" during a group photoshoot. Warwick Adams later quit after being made to dress up in a chicken suit.
On Wednesday night's episode, Angie said farewell to Scot Fuller, Adam Sellars and Tom Bowdidge.
