Our first look at the next season of The Bachelorette Australia has finally dropped and to say that it looks interesting is an utter understatement.
Surprisingly, it turns out that every single fella making his way down the red carpet was just as shocked to see not only Elly Miles, but her sister Becky Miles, waiting for them under the candle lights. Which clearly means that the contestants were unaware of this season’s premise beforehand.
“We’re sisters and we’re both bachelorettes,” Becky said to one of the surprised contestants.
However, the Miles sisters made sure they were quick to clarify: “Two girls, looking for one guy each.”
With one of our many questions on this season answered, we now know that the single lads will be competing for the love of just one Miles sister each.
“This year, things are going to be a little different,” Elly said in the trailer. “These boys have no bloody idea what’s coming for them.”
The show may already be wild, but this additional love interest is set to stir up some serious trouble. Especially after one perplexed contestant proclaimed (with a dropped jaw, no doubt): “Wait, there’s two of you. Why is there two?”
And while we are still shocked at this season’s twist, it seems that the Miles sisters are just as surprised, but have taken the opportunity in their stride.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing and no one gets to do this with their best friend—their sister—by their side” Elly admits in the footage.
But despite what this glorious snippet shows us (including a man-sized cupid), we still have oh-so many questions about how the logistics of a sister duo Bachelorette could possibly pan out.
Will the men be fighting for a particular sister or are they assigned one? Will they go on every date together? How many roses will there be?
But alas, all we can really do is just wait and see.
