‘Bachelorette’ Becky Miles Responds To Claim She “Dumped Her Boyfriend” For The Upcoming Series

She tells the real story

We’re just days away from former Bachelor star Elly Miles AND sister Becky appearing as dual Bachelorettes for the 2020 season, and while the decision has been met with mixed reviews, we haven’t even had to wait until the series started filming to get some serious tea.

Elly had already appeared on The Bachelor during Matt Agnew’s season, but her sister Becky is a newcomer to the franchise. By way of introduction, Network 10 revealed that she had “recently had her heartbroken”, but according to radio host Ed Kavalee that’s not exactly the case.

Speaking on the Hughesy and Ed show, the radio host claimed on-air that Becky was in a relationship that ended purely so she could appear on the reality show. “The person that she was with found out she was doing this show from the press,” Kavalee said.

Asking for clarification, Dave Hughes asked: “So he thought he was in a relationship with the older sister and he’s found out that he’s no longer in a relationship with her when he saw the press release that she was on The Bachelorette?”

“Yes,” Kavalee responded, adding that he was told by “people deep in reality TV” that it was the producers who came up with the new concept for the season. “Elly got in first [as the Bachelorette],” he told his co-host. “It’s then been brought up, ‘What about the sister? Let’s try.’ So then behind the scenes, she [Becky] gets across the line and then goes [to her boyfriend], ‘You’re out!’”

Speaking to Woman’s Day Becky fired back at those claims explaining what really went down.

“I wasn’t in a relationship when I signed on to this, I can tell you that! I was casually dating someone before the show, which was for a short amount of time,” she told the publication.

“When I told him about this opportunity I tried to be honest as possible and we left on a good note.”

Becky added that last year she had been in a serious relationship until she discovered her partner had been “mucking around.”

“I fell in love with this guy two months before I was leaving for a holiday. He flew over and came to see us at the end of our travels and we spent about a month together,” she explained.

“But when we came home, a month or two afterwards I found out through friends he was mucking around on me,” she added.

There you have it.
