Donald Trump's senior advisor Kellyanne Conway caused an Internet storm on Sunday when she claimed that Donald Trump's press secretary hadn't lied about the size of the crowd at Trump's inauguration - he had simply presented 'alternative facts'.
Host of NBC's Meet The Press Chuck Todd had asked Conway why she thought the president had asked his press secretary, Sean Spicer, to say that the inauguration crowd was significantly bigger than it actually was.
Conway replied, "You’re saying it’s a falsehood. And they’re giving Sean Spicer, our press secretary, alternative facts to that."
Essentially, she's saying that the facts aren't 'wrong', they're just 'different'.
Given that Trump has been criticised for simply ignoring facts and presenting his own reality, this is pretty serious.
