The Trailer Just Dropped For The Margaret Atwood Miniseries ‘Alias Grace’

For fans of 'The Handmaid's Tale'

Trying to fill The Handsmaid’s Tale void in your life? Your next Margaret Atwood obsession is set to be the six-hour miniseries Alias Grace, based on the Canadian author’s critically acclaimed novel.

Hitting Netflix this November, Alias Grace, tells the story of young Irish immigrant and domestic servant Grace Marks (Sarah Gadon), who is convicted of a brutal double homicide.

In the compelling new trailer released for the show, Grace recounts how she was accused of murder when she was just a child and has served 15 years behind bars. Claiming to have lost her memory, the show interrogates whether the poor servant is an amnesiac or “simply guilty.”

Another reason the series is set to be a winner: it’s written and produced by Sarah Polley, the Canadian talent behind Stories We Tell, Away From Her and Take This Waltz. And it’s directed by American Psycho’s Mary Harron.

According to Variety, the series will be available to stream on Netflix from November 3.
