Has Season 3 Of The Morning Show Been Confirmed?
On January 11, Variety confirmed that The Morning Show would be returning to our screens for a third time. But now, with Charlotte Stoudt taking on screenwriter duties for the 10-episode season.
Originally, the news drama was picked up for two seasons by Apple upon its initial creation in 2017. And Kerry Ehrin, who served as showrunner for the show's first two seasons, will now sharpen her skills as a consultant on season three.
“I’m excited to be joining forces with Apple TV Plus and The Morning Show” Stoudt said in a press release, via Variety.
“The cast, led by the phenomenal Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, are truly to die for. Kerry, Mimi and Michael, and the teams at Media Res, Hello Sunshine and Echo Films, have created an irresistible world that is equally delicious and provocative.”
“It has been thrilling to watch The Morning Show go from strength to strength over the past two seasons, exploring topical storylines that have resonated with audiences around the world while also being incredibly addictive and entertaining,” Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV Plus, added.
“We’re excited to see where Charlotte takes these extraordinary characters in season three and to watch the magic that Jennifer, Reese and our awe-inspiring cast continue to bring to the captivating world of morning television.”
What Is The Plot Of The Morning Show Season 3?
During season two, The Morning Show saw the news team emerging from yet more wreckage. From the sudden death of Mitch Kessler and a new UBA anchor Laura Peterson—who Bradley strikes up a relationship with—to Alex bordering on cancellation after she's been spotted visiting a disgraced Mitch in Italy, each character is forced to accept that they will have to make some difficult decisions to move forward.
As for what will happen in the show's third season, the show looks to focus on the impact of COVID-19 more predominately. With Alex testing posting for the virus, while Bradley and Cory searching for her missing brother wind up in a COVID disaster zone, sans masks, fans are left wondering how the show will go on with two COVID positive leads. As for Cory, well, after declared his love to Bradley, the pair will likely have to navigate how they'll move forward, with Bradley in a relationship and unaware of Cory's betrayal of her.
Which Cast Members Will Be Returning For Season 3 Of The Morning Show?
As for which familiar faces will be returning, the cast lineup looks to be as A-list as always. While not confirmed, Variety lists the cast as including Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Billy Crudup and Karen Pittman, as well as new additions Greta Lee, Ruairi O’Connor, Holland Taylor, Tara Karsian and Julianna Margulies, to name a few.
When Will The Morning Show Season 3 Be Released?
Since the third season has only just been confirmed, filming is yet to begin which means that a release date doesn't seem likely anytime soon. But keep your eyes peeled here as we update this story.
