In news that certainly counts as a Christmas miracle, everyone’s favourite work comedy The Office might be returning to our screens.

Following the success of NBC’s revival of Will & Grace, the network is reportedly considering revisiting the offices of Dunder Mifflin for a 2018-2019 season.

Sources told TVLine that the new series would include a mix of old characters and new (fingers crossed for a Jim and Pam update).

However, here comes the bad news: the world’s greatest boss, Michael Scott (as played by newly anointed silver fox Steve Carrell) is not expected to return if the series revival goes ahead.

But that just leaves the door wide open for another regional manager (just imagine Dwight shuffling off his ‘Assistant to the Regional Manager’ status to take over).
