The former owner of a lingerie retailer that supplied underwear to the Queen might have chosen a hilarious title for her memoir (Storm in a D Cup), but the palace is reportedly not amused.
Rigby & Peller has been stripped of its royal warrant after former director June Kenton published a book that revealed details of royal family fittings, The Telegraph reports.
The memoir includes details about Kenton’s working relationship with the Queen, Princess Diana and Princess Margaret. But as The Guardian notes, Kenton insists that she never discusses what happens in a fitting room.
Rigby & Peller had supplied lingerie to Queen Elizabeth II and other royals since 1960.
“The royal household warrants committee has decided to cancel the royal warrant granted to Rigby & Peller and Mrs June Kenton,” the brand said in a statement.
“Rigby & Peller is deeply saddened by this decision and is not able to elaborate further on the cancellation out of respect for Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Warrant Holders Association.
Buckingham Palace declined to comment. “In respect of Royal Warrants, we never comment on individual companies,” a palace statement reads.
