To further complicate matters, we discover that Meghan has been having an affair with a man named Simon, who demands the baby undergo a paternity test to reveal if he could be the father. Rather than take the test, Meghan swaps the newborn's DNA swab with one taken from one of her other children, so we never find out who Ben's real father is. Oh, and Jack had an affair too, as if things weren't messy enough.
Given that the series is based on book of the same name by Michael Robotham, fans weren't expecting a second season given that there's no second book to work off. Still, the show found itself renewed due to the success of the first season, so it'll be interesting to see where the writers take the plot line from here.
What is the plot of The Secrets She Keeps season two?
As we know, the end of season one left viewers on a fairly happy note with baby Ben returned to his mother and Agatha locked away behind bars. Of course, season two wouldn't be without the same level of drama, so we're expecting things to heat up right from the first episode.
According to the official synopsis, there is something tormenting Meghan which viewers will learn more about as the season progresses by re-tracing her memories.
Meanwhile, a podcaster begins to look into Agatha's case while she serves her time in prison. Agatha is said to be hiding yet another secret which will likely come to light by the finale. One thing is for certain, both women's lives will become even more entangled in bizarre and enthralling ways.
All original cast members are returning to the series except for Michael Dorman, who will be replaced by Todd Lasance (*Home and Away*, *The Vampire Diaries*) as Meghan's husband, Jack.
