The Wiggles Just Magically Covered Tame Impala For Triple J’s ‘Like A Version’

Wow.

Here are two things we never thought we’d utter in the same sentence – The Wiggles and Tame Impala. Actually, three things: The Wiggles, Tame Impala, and Triple J. But here we are, guys. It’s 2021, and our favourite Australian children’s group is covering Australia’s favourite psychadelic rock band on our favourite youth radio station.

When we first heard that The Wiggles would be going onto Triple J for the station’s iconic cover program, Like A Version, we were intrigued but honestly, unsure. Would it be an overly-wholesome rendition of Peter Coombe? Some other old-school children’s artist?

But friends, they have not only shocked us, they have us in AWE. If you do nothing else today, you need to watch their performance of Tame Impala’s Elephant – as a mash-up with, can you believe, Fruit Salad.

We don’t know what’s got us screaming more at our computers – Emma Wiggle rocking out on the drums, Lachie on keytar (!!!) slaying vocals or Anthony with an elephant hat. Truly, the combination we never knew we needed.

We humbly bow down to our new musical overlords.
