This Beauty Vlogger Is Creating Tutorials For Acid Attack Survivors

She has been working alongside the campaign Make Love Not Scars to help other survivors with body confidence.

Reshma Qureshi is working with Make Love Not Scars to end the free sale of acid in India, and her latest venture is in the world of beauty vlogging!

Reshma was the victim of a horrific incident in which her brother-in-law poured concentrated sulphuric acid on her when she was 17, disfiguring her face and even causing her to lose an eye.

Since then, she has become an advocate for Make Love Not Scars to help acid attack survivors regain their dignity and body confidence. She even walked the runway at New York Fashion Week this year – the first time she had ever ventured out of India.

She has created three beauty vlogs, teaching acid attack survivors how to get rid of dark spots, apply eyeliner and get perfect red lips.

At the end of each video, there is a powerful message that encourages people to sign the petition against the free sale of acid.

“See how easy it is to get rid of dark spots?” she says. “As easy as scarring someone’s face with acid. Just open a bottle and throw.

“This is the reason why every day, a girl becomes a victim of an acid attack.”

A very worthy cause, led by a very strong woman!
