This Couple Served Pizza Instead Of Wedding Cake. Because PIZZA.

What dreams are made of… well for some anyway.

There are two types of people in this world. Those that would die over a four tier pizza wedding cake. And those that wouldn’t.

When I saw pics of Jess Melara and Tony Sanchez’s wedding my first thought was WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF THAT? I loved loved loved my wedding cake, but: PIZZA.

“Tony and I love pizza and aren’t huge fans of cake, so we surprised our guests with Pizza Cake (yes, I said pizza cake!),” Melara told Wedding Chicks of their decision to shun tradition.

“It was saucy and delicious and what pizza dreams are made of.”

Yes, yes it is.

But it seems not everyone shares my enthusiasm for four sweet, sweet, tiers of pepperoni goodness.

In our office there was shock, there was outrage, there were serious questions.

“Is this following on from a main meal? Don’t your guests want something sweet by that stage. I’m confused,” said one.

“It detracts form the sense of occasion – do we really need fast food on our wedding day?” asked another. “And not to mention, what if you get tomato sauce on your white wedding dress. White fondant is a MUCH safer sartorial option!”

Ok ok, so it’s not for everyone, but hey it’s your big day so if you want to serve pizza, or coco pops (we’re looking at you Margot Robbie), I say go for it.
