This Is The Only Non-Neutral Colour Meghan Markle Will Wear

Have we just identified the colour of her bridesmaids?

Have a quick scan of any photos of Meghan Markle since she and Prince Harry announced their engagement, and it’s immediately apparent: the future Duchess is scared of colour.

If her royal appearances are any indication, Ms Markle’s wardrobe consists purely of neutrals – think navy, black, white, grey and beige – bar one actual colour she appears to make an exception for.

Her signature hue? Green. It’s the only non-neutral Markle has worn since her engagement was announced – first in the form of a navy and forest green check Burberry coat and Strathberry bag; then with a deep green midi-skirt by Greta Constantine (tempered with a pale greige coat, of course); yet another green bag, this time by DeMellier; and lastly, an emerald green print Self-Portrait dress.

According to applied colour psychology practitioner Karen Haller, Markle’s choice of hue is a dead giveaway of how she’s feeling. Haller told the Daily Mail: “If she is feeling a bit apprehensive or unsure – and let’s face it who wouldn’t feel like this joining the royal family and learning all protocol – this specific hue would go some way to provide her with a feeling of safety and reassurance, helping to create a sense of peace and balance.”

We’re calling it: when Meghan walks down the aisle on May 19, she’ll be accompanied by bridesmaids in forest green gowns. You heard it here first.
