Zara And Mike Tindall Open Up About Devastating Miscarriage

The news was shared just days before Christmas

Just days before Christmas, Zara Tindall and her husband, rugby player Mike, shared the heartbreaking news that they had suffered a miscarriage.

A month earlier, in November 2016, the pair had announced that their daughter Mia would be getting a little sister.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, Mike opened up about their devastating loss and how they learned to cope with the miscarriage.

“One thing you do learn is how many other people have had to go through the same,” he said.

The rugby player explained that their three-year-old daughter Mia had been their “saving grace”.

“However down we feel she will come running up in our faces. When I was playing I hardly saw her; now we can see her grow up. I can take her swimming and I can take her to Ninja Tots,” he said. “You’ll never be able to see her there because she disappears in a puff of smoke.”

The news was originally announced by a spokesperson for the couple, who said: ‘Very sadly, Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby. At this difficult time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy”.

Zara the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and the daughter of Princess Anne. Zara and Mike married in July, 2011 at a ceremony in Scotland.
