As much as we all love to keep track of Kate Middleton’s sartorial choices (that red lace Marchesa dress? Divine), this British woman has taken her obsession to the next level.
So enamoured is she with the Duchess of Cambridge’s wardrobe, Kate Urbanksa has decided to replicate it – right down to the royal’s shoes and accessories – and document it all on her Instagram account, fittingly titled GreatReplikate.
Rather than find high street alternatives to Kate’s designer clothes, Urbanksa scours the web for the exact match, and seeks tailors to make hard-to-find pieces for her from scratch.
“It doesn’t matter whether I’m on the bus or waiting in line for something, whenever I have a spare moment, I’m always checking the different sites,” she tells the Daily Mail.
So far, she’s spent around $AU11,600 on her project, with the most expensive item being a pair of $AU745 Gianvito Rossi 105 heels she bought for full price.
“I love Kate Middleton and her style – her look is modest, timeless and so different compared to other celebrities nowadays,” Urbanksa says. “She never follows trends, and she picks clothes that are comfortable, elegant and classic.”
To that end, Urbranksa only copies outfits she can see herself wearing in everyday life. “My lifestyle doesn’t require a couture gown so I will probably never buy any full-length gowns she wore or will wear in the future,” she says.
