Three New Ways To Wear Knits

Update the classic winter staple

Want to give your knitwear collection a fashion-forward update? Uniqlo has teamed up with influencers Sara Donaldson of Harper and Harley and Andy Csinger to show you how.

1/ # Go big or go home

“Oversized silhouettes are having a major moment, and a slouchy jumper is the perfect way to try out the trend,” says Styled By marie claire content editor Brittany Henderson. “They’re both cosy and chic – what’s not to love?” Take your cues from Sara Donaldson and wear a High Neck Tunic with jeans, or dress it up with a fluted skirt.

2/ # Think beyond the sweater

Knitwear doesn’t have to mean tops alone – there are plenty of stylish dresses and skirts on offer this season, too. For a cool off-duty outfit, wear the Merino Blend Ribbed Skirt with sneakers and a bomber jacket à la Andy Csinger. After hours, sub in a silky pyjama-style shirt and heels.

3/ # Play with texture

Ribbing, cashmere and cable knits breathe new life into clean-cut shapes. “Make a polished V-neck work for office hours by teaming with a striped shirt and cigarette pants,” says Henderson. “Or add dimension to your weekend uniform by wearing a super-soft cardigan over a logo tee.”

L-R: M.I.H Jeans Oversized Striped Shirt in Blue, $297, Net-A-Porter; Merino Blend Ribbed V-Neck Sweater, $49.90, Uniqlo; Toteme Le Chesne Tailored Check Trouser, $460, My Chameleon.
