Weekly Fashion Digest: Prada Goes Fur Free And Tiffany & Co. Updates The Engagement Ring

It's been a busy week

Fur free for Prada

Prada has teamed up with the Fur Free Alliance and will no longer use animal fur in its designs or new products. Get ready for more fur alternatives in a bid for animal protection – Elle Woods would be so proud. The new commitment is seeing a positive change in attitudes toward our furry little friends as the fur-free list, already benchmarking 1,000 companies, continues to grow.

Tiffany True
In what’s been nearly a decade of anticipation, Tiffany & Co. have just released a new engagement design that has us in a love-struck day dream. The ethically crafted Tiffany True design comes from the hands of some highly skilled craftsmen, boasting the iciness and strong contrasts of a step-cut with the intense light return of a brilliant cut. Top all that off with a dose of Lady Gaga’s angelic vocals in the new video campaign and what more could a girl want?

We Hart Jess
Jess Hart has set the scene as the face of Zimmermann’s first eyewear collection. The 13-piece collection oozes a ’70s feel and unabashed femininity with traditional cat eye frames, oversized two-tone lamination techniques and hues of deep chocolate, putty and tan to evoke a warm and sophisticated vibe — and just wait until you see the paisley print.

The gift of time
DFS couldn’t have picked a more perfect time, mind the pun, to host an $8.7 million showcase of some of the worlds most limited edition timepieces. According to research by DFS, more women are making large purchases as a gift to themselves, and rightfully so – we deserve it! The eye-catching display of diamond encrusted timepieces and delicately designed jewels will be held at The Rocks luxury boutique in Sydney this month. We recall Matthew McConaughey being the one who said it, “Ladies, frost yourself…”

Dior done right

Dior has just released their new bag line, appropriately called 30 Montaigne. Named in tribute to the flagship Parisian address — think romantic grand stairwells and velvet couches — the bag is an ode to great design. The line features a distinctive hand-sculpted, oversized, gold-tone ‘CD’ initial clasp and oozes everything we love about the heritage French brand. Celebrities such as Miranda Kerr and Jennifer Lawrence have already got their hands on the versatile accessory, and we’ll have what they’re having, thanks.
