The series follows the titular Marcella Backland, played by Anna Friel, who is a British police detective working in contemporary London. In typical thriller fashion, this series starts with the discovery of the body of a missing child inside a wall and a task-force is assembled to catch the killer. A complex set of characters from all walks of life and interweaving storylines is sure to take you on a dark and emotional journey with turns at every corner.

Calling all Gillian Flynn fans! If you're a fan of the author's work—especially Gone Girl—then Sharp Objects is a must-watch. Based on the book of the same name, the series follows crime reporter Camille Preaker who returns to her hometown to solve the murder of two young girls, after recently dealing with her own mental health struggles. While trying to find the girls' killer, she is forced to face and deal with her own demons too.

Far from a new show, Netflix's You is already known and loved across the internet. But for those craving a rewatch, or the rare few who are yet to dive into the series, it's definitely a must-watch. Shedding his Dan Humprehy persona, Penn Badgley stars as the oh-so-creepy Joe Goldberg, a serial killer who is under the impression that he is somehow a good guy, insisting that he commits his crimes all in the name of love. As his obsession with his relationships deepens, Joe goes even further, with one shocking move after the next.

If suspense is at the top of your must-watch list, then look not further than The Sinner. The series follows Detective Harry Ambrose, played by Bill Pullman, as he digs into three separate cases in his small town in upstate New York. Losing Alice
Having only been released this year, Losing Alice has remained rather low-key when it comes to viewership, but its far from forgettable. Examining relationships in a similar way to Behind Her Eyes, the story follows Alice, a middle aged director, who meets Sophie, a screenwriter decades younger than her. However, their friendship progresses into an unhealthy obsession and Alice is drawn into everything Sophie has that she doesn't, leading the women to become dangerously close.

Created by the man of mystery himself, M. Night Shyamalan's Servant is all kinds of eerie. Filled with dark cinematography and spine-tingling suspense, the series follows a couple from Philadelphia who are in mourning after an unspeakable tragedy creates a rift in their marriage. However, it has opened the door for another mysterious force to enter their home.

The Undoing
Far from new, The Undoing has taken the TV spotlight in the last few months, generating endless intrigue and excitement online. But like You, there may be some who are yet to bear witness—or would like to do so again. Starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, The Undoing follows an unravelling marriage that seems perfect on the outside, but has plenty of problems hidden underneath the surface. After being accused of murder, the wealthy doctor struggles with remaining faithful to his wife who stands by him throughout the allegations, but questions if she really knows the man she married.

The Stranger
Another 2021 debut, The Stranger is yet another nail-biting thriller sure to tick all the same boxes as Behind Her Eyes. Based on Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name, the eight-episode series follows Adam Price, played by Richard Armitage, a man who is disturbed when a stranger delivers a secret that could ruin his life and also leads to the disappearance of his wife.
