Carrie Bickmore Reveals The Traumatising Effect Childbirth Had On Her

Carrie Bickmore has opened up about the traumatising effect child birth has had on her in a radio interview.

She spoke on her Hit Network radio show, revealing that she had difficulty coping with the effects of her second child birth, so decided to see a professional to talk about it.

“Giving birth is a full on thing, it’s beautiful, it’s special, but it’s also traumatic,” she said.

“It’s painful, I would have done anything to have the experience erased from my mind.

“I found it so traumatic come the birth of my second child I actually had counselling to get myself OK to be able to give birth to Evie because I was so scared after the first experience.

Carrie Bickmore has two children, Oliver Lange (nine years old), who she had with her husband Greg Lange in 2007, and Evie Walker (one year old), who she had with her partner Chris Walker in 2015.

She added that for her, the rumour that you forget the pain of childbirth was not at all true for her.

“They say you forget and that’s why you go back again. I never forgot.

“The funniest part, it’s hard to get your head around what actually happens.

“A big thing comes out of a very small place.”
