Channel Ten Responds To Matty J’s Alleged Weekend Away With Bachelor Winner

We're listening...

Channel Ten and Warner Bros have hit back after the winner of this season of The Bachelor was reportedly revealed yesterday.

After the previous two seasons were spoiled – Sam Frost and Sasha Mielczarek, then Richie Strahan and Alex Nation – the network has been trying harder than ever to keep Matty J’s lucky lady under wraps.

However, just a few weeks out from the finale, The Daily Mail photographed Matty Johnson and his chosen lady Laura Byrne.

Laura, 30, and Matty, 31, reportedly secretly met up over the weekend in the Blue Mountains for a romantic getaway.

The publication “can confirm Laura was picked up by a Bachelor production vehicle on Friday morning.” It went on to explain that they spent the weekend away from their respective eastern suburbs homes, and both returned on Sunday night, with luggage in tow.

Adding to the suspicion that Laura has won – and is going above and beyond to keep that fact a secret – was her unusual behaviour

The fitness fanatic reportedly caught an Uber from her Rushcutters Bay residence to Edgecliff station on Friday morning, instead of walking five minutes up the road, before getting into the production van.

Now, Channel Ten has responded – and it sounds like they’re trying to just throw us off the (Laura and Matty J) scent.

“This season there has been an extraordinary number of completely false, misleading and ludicrous speculative stories about Matty’s journey, the Bachelorettes and even the final result,” the network said in a statement.

“Network Ten trusts that viewers know not to believe everything they might read about The Bachelor Australia, neither do they want the result of the show ruined for them, and we are looking forward to sharing Matty’s true experience in the coming weeks,” it continued, as reported by SMH.
