The first images taken inside Grenfell Tower show the extreme devastation that was caused by a fire that ripped through the apartment block in the early hours of Wednesday morning, London time.

The death toll is expected to rise, and emergency services in the UK have warned that it could be as high as triple figures after many residents were trapped in their units.

Many apartments are still burning, with the photo above showing debris littered across the room and burnt out appliances against a wall.

Everything in the apartment has been destroyed.

Photos from outside the building show that all windows were blown out by the intense flames.
Search dogs continue to search the building for residents still missing, however hope is starting to fade.
78 people were taken to hospital after the fire, with 18 still critical and fighting for their lives.
