At first, this seems pretty intense and unlike Theroux. He captioned the image, “#currentelectionmood #berlin #graffiti #fuckingnickflatt””
However several fans commented speculating that he was ‘secretly shading’ Brad Pitt.
One commenter wrote “nice silent shade #fbradpitt”, while another wrote “shady Justin! He did it in the coolest way tho”.
Justin Theroux defended his post though saying that he wasn’t intending any malice at Brad Pitt, editing the caption to include:

Justin Theroux previously told Business Insider that commentary on the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorce is ‘boring’ on a press tour, referencing his own experience with divorce.
