Cohen was best known for his hit song Hallelujah, which garnered a new generation of fans when it was covered by Jeff Buckley in the 90s.
Other legendary hits included Suzanne, Bird on the Wire and Tower of Song.
His careers spanned over five decades and he released his final album, ‘You Want It Darker’ earlier this year.
