There’s no denying Little Women is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, with the cast including Meryl Streep, Emma Watson, Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet Saoirse Ronan and Florence Pugh and Lady Bird director Greta Gerwig at the helm, but overnight the upcoming movie was the subject of a lot of talk on social media – and none of it good.
The reason? The below promo poster.
After blowing literally everyone’s minds with the best movie trailer in recent history (see below), people on Twitter were quick to point out that the above design looks eerily like it was made for an early aughts rom-com.

And once you see it that way, it’s pretty hard to unsee it. Naturally, the good people of the internet made it their task to meme their reactions and create their own versions of the poster, which we’re going to go ahead and say Greta Gerwig had literally nothing to do with.
See the best reactions below.
little women…I love you but who made this poster?? why is this being marketed at an early 2000s romantic comedy??? https://t.co/3FzwjSabXj
