Guess who’s coming to dinner? For US TV channel VH1, the answer is Maratha Stewart and Snoop Dogg after it was announced today the unlikely pair will co-host a weekly food show on the network. The ten episode series, called “Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party” will see the billionaire and the rapper cook for and entertain a variety of celebrity guests.
Make no bones about it, the soirees Martha and Snoop will be hosting will be far from polite evenings talking about house prices: the official spiel from VH1 says each show will feature “a half-baked evening of cocktails, cooking, conversation and fun where nothing is off limits.”
Taking to Instagram, Martha said the series would showcase “the best dinner parties you’ll ever see on@vh1. Game on, Snoop!”
“My homegirl, Martha, and I have a special bond that goes back,” Snoop has said of the project. “We’re gonna be cooking, drinking and having a good time with our exclusive friends. Can’t wait for you to see how we roll together!”
It’s not the first time the pair has shared the small screen. Snoop has appeared on Martha’s eponymous homemaking TV show over the years, demonstrating his recipe for brownies (green, natch) and mashed potatoes. They also both appeared on Justin Bieber’s 2015 Comedy Central roast, at which, Martha later revealed she had gotten high after sitting next to Snoop.
