Meghan Markle Is Scaling Back Her Royal Tour Appearances

"Being pregnant takes its toll"

Despite being four months pregnant with her first child, the Duchess of Sussex has been all go while Down Under for the royal tour of Australia. From watching the sailing on the Sydney Harbour to visiting Fraser Island and catching trams in Melbourne, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s schedule has been jam-packed.

With 76 appearances booked over the 16-day tour – which works out to be around five different events every day – it’s no wonder the expectant mother is scaling back to rest and focus on her pregnancy.

Meghan skipped an event in Sydney yesterday, which Harry attended solo, telling people his wife was “resting back at home” and that “being pregnant takes its toll.”

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan later shared that the couple “decided to cut back the Duchess’s schedule slightly for the next couple of days, ahead of the final week and a half of the tour.”

But, like the trooper she is, just a few hours later, Meghan was out and about, joining her husband to visit Fraser Island and pleasantly surprising those who had waited for hours to catch a glimpse of her, before hearing word she might not make the trip.

Thankfully, there’s nothing to worry about in terms of Meghan’s health. According to People, Meghan is “feeling fine but resting,” and she isn’t unwell, just a bit tired from the tour.
