Being a royal comes with many perks, but having your private life scrutinised is most definitely not one of them.
Since the public got wind of Prince Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle, the now-Duchess of Sussex has had headlines about her past relationships, friendships, former jobs and family published almost daily, something that has taken its toll.
Meghan’s relationship with her father and half-siblings has become increasingly strained over the months, as Thomas Markle and daughter Samantha Markle continue to give explosive interviews to the press. But now it appears Meghan’s friendships are suffering too.
People reports that the 37-year-old has had to tighten up her friendship circle since her marriage to Prince Harry, with a source claiming she’s “lost touch with some of her close friends from before the wedding, which has been tough.”
“She’s finding it hard to know who to trust,” the source continues, saying Meghan’s family drama has been “very wearing on her.”
Thankfully, Meghan still has her close friend, Jessica Mulroney, whom she visited in Canada earlier this month and whose children were part of her wedding party in May.
It looks like Meghan and Priyanka Chopra are still close too, with Prince Harry lending Priyanka and fiance Nick Jonas London accommodation last month.
