Colman, 29, appeared before the Perth Magistrate’s Court in April this year for assaulting 31-year-old Tristan Cooper in 2015, Perth Now reports.

When Cooper tried to break up an argument outside Hungry Jacks, he says Colman turned on him. “Blake and his group were yelling and we were walking away. Then he just came running up and with all his body weight sort of grabbed me in the back of the head and threw me into the side of Hungry Jacks,” Cooper told Perth Now.

“He picked me up by my neck and threw me down and my head’s whacked the corner of the window as I’ve gone down,” he continued.

Cooper was knocked unconscious and when he came to, had lost all feeling in his legs. He tells Perth Now that a nearby woman was covered in his blood from the force of Colman’s blow.

He was rushed to hospital and required four staples in the back of his head.

CTV footage shows Colman leaving the scene in a taxi, and he was identified when Crime Stoppers released his photo.

He pleaded guilty in court and was fined and ordered to pay Cooper $850 to cover is ambulance expenses.

Cooper told Perth Now that Colman’s lawyer was anxious to prevent the incident from affecting Colman’s TV career.

“His lawyer said he’s a refrigeration mechanic by trade, he lives with his parents and that he’s been shortlisted for The Bachelorette and that he wouldn’t want his opportunity to be on the show to be hindered,” he said. “I just thought, ‘you’ve got to be joking.’”

Channel 10 has since issued a statement on Colman’s behalf, saying he is “truly remorseful” for his actions.
