Princess Diana has long been known for her kindness and generosity, and now her long-time friend Rosa Monckton has revealed the true extent of it.
When Monckton suffered a stillbirth, her friend, Diana, suggested she bury her child in the grounds of Kensington Palace.
During last night’s Sunday Night, host Melissa Doyle asked Monckton if it was Diana who suggested burying the baby there, she replied, “Yes, yes it was… It was an extraordinary thing to do.”

The pair told security that they, along with Diana’s butler, Paul Burrell, were burying a pet.
“She said, ‘I’m going to tell the chief inspector that we’re going to bury a pet in the garden,” Burrell told the program. “‘Only you, I and Rosa will know it’s a baby’.”
The trip then held a “very, very moving ceremony”, Mockton added, before revealing that Diana gave her a key to the palace garden, which she still has.
Monckton and her husband Dominic Lawson already had a daughter, Savannah, when they lost their child, and went on to welcome another daughter, Domenica, who has Down’s syndrome.
Diana was Domenica’s godmother.
