We let science guide so much of our lives – what we eat, how often we exercise, what medicine we take – that it seems only right to let them in on our sex lives, too.
But far be it from science to wait for an invitation – they’ve gone and decided exactly how much sex we should be having for optimum happiness.
According to Dr Amy Muise, lead author of the study and psychology professor at Toronto’s York University, all it takes is once a week for the average couple.
“Once a week seemed to be the sweet spot,” she told NY Daily News, adding that more often than that doesn’t appear to make couples any happier.
