Prince William is making headlines this week after he was photographed without his wedding ring on. However it’s hardly viral news considering the Royal has never worn his wedding ring since his 2011 marriage to Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. The reason he doesn’t wear it is rather simple too; he just doesn’t want to.

A Palace aide has explained the simple decision: ‘He’s not one for jewellery. He’s never worn any. He decided he didn’t want to wear one now. It’s all down to personal preference.’

Many are divided on his choice, with some saying it’s a shame he’s not taking a ‘modern’ approach to his marriage. Others however see nothing wrong with it and say it’s fairly common for men to go ring-free.

In fact, for the Royal Family it is common. Both Prince Charles and Prince Philip are sans wedding ring, so it’s hardly surprising William has followed suit.
