Nelci Tetley, 67, was arrested on Thursday and charged with the first-degree murder of 55-year-old Jeffrey Albertsman after his remains were found inside his home in July 2017.

According to a report obtained by The Daytona Beach News-Journal, Albertsman died from a bullet wound to the head and chest. His arms and legs were missing but found two months later in a fernery nearby. Tetley reportedly dated Albertsman for nine years and is accused of routinely abusing him for years before his death.

Now, police are treating Tetley as a person of interest in the death of Michael Scot Louis, who was found dead in 2007. Scot Louisโ€™ remains were discovered in garbage bags dumped along the Tomoka River, just 16km away from Albertsmanโ€™s body parts, TIME reports.

How exactly have the cases been linked? A police report notes that the bodies were cut in a similar fashion, although officials have not provided any new information about the case.

โ€œThe Louis case is an active investigation and we are not releasing any information at this time,โ€ Ormond Beach police spokesman Captain Chris Roos said on Friday.

The investigation continues.
