A woman who went missing for four days after police pulled her over, reportedly sent her friend a text message before disappearing without a trace.
Toni Anderson, 20, finished her shift at the Chrome Strip Club in Kansas City on Saturday night and told her colleagues she was heading to fill up her car with petrol before heading home.
Despite initially reportedly denying they had stopped Ms Anderson, Kansas City police later confirmed they had pulled her over for an โimproper lane changeโ.
โShe stated to the officer that she was almost out of gas. Thereโs a QuikTrip real close,โ officer Darin Snapp said in a statement.
โSo the officer just told her, you know, โthereโs a gas station right there,โ gave her a warning for the violation, and watched her actually go to the QuikTrip and thatโs the last we have seen of her.โ
Fox4KC reports that there were two attempts to use Ms Andersonโs credit card at the QuikTrip station.
After being pulled over, Ms Anderson reportedly sent a text message to her friend Roxanne Townsend which read: โOMG just just (sic) pulled over again.โ
โIt was exactly 4:42 when she texted me and said, โI just got pulled over again.โ Said Ms Townsend according to The Mirror. โShe said โagainโ because she gets pulled over all the time.โ
โWeโve spoken with family members, friends and co-workers but unfortunately still no sign of Toniโs whereabouts,โ added Snapp. โThere is no evidence of foul play, but her disappearance is very concerning.โ
The womanโs boyfriend, Pete Sanchez, said her family and friends were โworried sickโ.
โEvery time I leave the house, I hope the next face I see in public is going to be her. Sheโs a great person,โ he said, adding that she has never disappeared before.
โI just want her to be safe. Her safety is my main concern right now,โ Sanchez added.
Mr Sanchez has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for a private investigator and to put towards a reward.
